Puri: As the novel coronavirus (COVID19) is rapidly spreading its tentacles across the world, Odisha’s Puri district, which sees record number of visitors every day, is fully prepared to tackle the deadly coronavirus.
“There is absolutely no reason for worry. The district administration has taken all preventive measures to deal with the COVID19”, informed Puri Collector Balwant Singh after chairing the first district level advisory committee meeting here on Thursday.
Singh took a reviewing meeting with health officials and other senior officers to take stock of all out preparedness by the district administration to meet challenges of coronavirus.
The district admin is working as per the advisory issued by the State and Central governments to deal with the situations related to the killer coronavirus, he said.
He further said that the district level response team has been formed to reach out to the suspected cases.
The community health centres have been provided with awareness materials to sensitize the people about the coronavirus, he said.
Besides, hotels and restaurants in the Puri town have also been alerted to bring notice of the administration about suspected cases.
The Puri Collector also appealed the people not to pay heed to any rumor over the coronavirus.
