Puri Police Ready With Five-Layer Security For Tomorrow’s Debasnana Purnima

Puri: With a view to ensure smooth conduct of Debasnana Purnima festival of Lord Jagannath tomorrow, the Puri Police has set up a five layered security system in place in and around the Shrimandira. As the festival is being held in the presence of devotees after two years, and the administration expecting a large inflow of people into the pilgrim city, the Puri police has made elaborate security arrangements including deployment of additional forces and putting up CCTV Cameras at various places. The security around the Jagannath Temple has been beefed up. Addressing Media, R K Sharma, ADG Law and Order said that all arrangements have been completed for ensuring a hassle free conduct of the festival. He also said that 3 Commandants, 11 Additional SPs, 21 DSPs, 50 Inspectors, 270 SIs and ASIs, 1000 Constables & Home Guards will be deployed for tomorrow’s Debasnana Purnima.

Along with the police personnel, a team of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and one platoon Special Tactical Unit (STU) will also be deployed in Puri. Quick Reaction Teams will be deployed in various places of the city. The priority for the police will be to manage the crowd and traffic both inside and outside the temple.
