Bhubaneswar: In a major development in Odisha politics, former Rajya Sabha MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra’s daughter Sikta Pati joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) here on today.
Inspired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s leadership and his development works for women and children, Sikta decided to join the BJD.
As per sources, Sikta met the BJD supremo at his residence here this evening and took the membership of the party.
Welcoming Sikta to the BJD fold, Naveen said that her joining would further strengthen the party.
Talking to the media after taking the membership of BJD, Sikta said that she would dedicate herself for the service of the people.
