Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) announced that the servitors, who will be engaged for the conduct of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, will wear face masks designed by Boyanika.
The decision to provide face masks to servitors was taken earlier by the temple administration to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The SJTA has asked Boyanika to supply 5,000 face masks to Srimandir ahead of Rath Yatra of the Trinity.
The servitors will offer their services to the deities wearing face masks during the nine-day long festival, scheduled to begin from June 23.
The design of the masks has been finalized by the SJTA. The masks will be designed keeping in view of the colors of three chariots and it will be made of popular handloom ‘Bandha’.
