New Delhi: The beautifully crafted tableau of Odisha showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the State was one of the major attractions at the Republic Day parade on Sunday.
The tableau showing the Rukuna Rath and the Lingaraj Temple mesmerized everyone at the Republic Day Parade 2020 as it passed through the Rajpath in New Delhi.
The tableau received high praises from the visitors as it portrayed the rich culture and heritage of Odisha brilliantly.
Designed by renowned sculptor Gajendra Sahu and his team, the tableau featured a miniature of Lingaraj temple at the rear and Rukuna Rath at the front.
As many 30 Odissi dancers from three institutions performed on the tableau.
Odisha’s tableau was selected after a gap of two years.
The tableaus of 16 states and union territories were shortlisted for participation at the Republic Day Parade 2020.
In 2017, Odisha tableau on famous Dola Jatra, one of the most celebrated festivals of our state which is observed during the Hindu month of Phalguna, was selected for the Republic Day parade.
