Respite From Rising Temperatures As Odisha To Experience Rains For Coming Six Days

Bhubaneswar: Bringing much respite to the people, temperature in Odisha fell by more than three to five degrees today and the state will experience rains with thunder showers in the coming six days. Most of the districts of Odisha will receive rains timll 21st March. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rains and thunderstorm activity with lightning over the districts of Odisha during the next five days. “Due to likely interaction of middle tropospheric westerly trough with lower level easterly, and moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, conditions are becoming favourable for moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, gusty surface wind and scattered rainfall to fairly widespread rainfall over the districts of Odisha within next 5 days,” read the IMD forecast.

For today, the Met Department has warned for rains in eleven districts – Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal. Likewise, for tomorrow the warning for rains and thunder showers has been issued for coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal. Yellow Warning has also been issued for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore.
