RPF Constable Turns Savior: Saves Life of Passenger Falling From Moving Train

Bhubaneswar: An alert constable of the Railway Protection Force yesterday turned savior as he saved the life a passenger who accidentally fell from a running train on the 2nd platform of Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The passenger – Nazir Malik, aged about 24 years, from West Bengal, while detraining from running Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar MEMU had fallen between Platform and Train at Bhubaneswar Station and was lifted immediately by on duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable N. B Rao.

The incident occurred Sunday evening, 23rd June, 2019 at about 1748hrs. Due to the bravery and instant alertness on duty he has been praised by one and all, for exemplary presence of mind and passenger safety consciousness. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

A few days ago, in a similar incident, a Railway Telecom Engineer, Shri Tapas Ranjan Barik, had saved the life of an elderly lady passenger, who had tried to deboard from a running train at Cuttack Railway Station.

East Coast Railway once again appeals to all Rail passengers to be very careful while entraining or detraining trains. Under no circumstance should we board or deboard a running train.
