Sambalpur: A panchayat executive officer (PEO) in Odisha’s Sambalpur district has come under the scanner of Vigilance department for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.
The sleuths of Vigilance Sambalpur Division conducted simultaneous raids at the office and residence of Sudam Charan Majhi, VLW- Cum- PEO, New Barangamal G.P. under Jujumura Block on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by the officer.
The anti-corruption officials carried out simultaneous searches at Majhi’s residential triple storey building in Sambalpur town and Office Chamber at New Barangamal G.P. under Jujumura Block.
The raids were conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, informed SP, Sambalpur Vigilance division Sarah Sharma.
