Bhubaneswar: In a major development in the alleged land grabbing case at Sarua in Khordha district, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch on Sunday arrested one of the Directors of Odisha Infra Tech Pvt Ltd Monoranjan Sarangi.
He is also happens to be the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of the Odisha Television Ltd (OTV).
Sarangi’s health was checked up at the capital hospital before forwarding to the court.
As per a statement issued by the EOW, Odisha InfraTech Pvt Ltd purchased land belonging to some scheduled caste persons from Sarua village under Begunia tehsil of Khordha district while circumventing rules/laws, using forgery/cheating/intimidation and other dubious methods with an intention to cause losses to SC people.
Earlier in the day, the Crime Branch sleuths have picked him for questioning.
Speaking to media earlier in the day , a senior Crime Branch officer said that the OTV official will be interrogated in the alleged land grabbing case.
In another development, large number of contractual workers of Tarang Studio of the OTV staged a demonstration in front of the office gate at Sarua village alleging pay cuts and layoffs.
It may be noted here that the Baghamari Police on Saturday had arrested site engineer of the Odisha Infratech Pvt Ltd and supervisor of the Tarang Studio for threatening the contractual workers.
