Puri: Hours after the Supreme Court verdict which allowed to organise Rath Yatra with certain conditions, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb expressed gratitude to the State government for its support and cooperation in making the historic event possible.
He further expressed thanks to the Centre for extending full support and cooperation in conducting the Rath Yatra amid Covid-19.
Speaking to media, he said, “I thank both the Central and the State governments for their support and cooperation in making it possible.” He also thanked the Supreme Court judges for the verdict.
Finally, Lord Jagannath listened the prayers of millions of devotee across the world.
Soon after the supreme court verdict, a preparatory meeting was convened in which Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, Law Minister, Chief Secretary, DGP, Chief Administrator, SJTA and Puri Collector were present.
Earlier, Gajapati Maharaja, the chairman of Sri Mandir Management Committee, requested the government to organize Rath Yatra without devotees.
