Bhubaneswar: The decision regarding reopening of schools in Odisha will be taken after reviewing the COVID-19 situation towards the end of October, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.
Since schools and colleges will not be reopened before the Durga Puja as announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the decision regarding reopening of schools will be taken only after reviewing the corona situation by the end of October, the Minister said.
At the moment, the utmost priority is the health of students, he said while adding that the State Government will take appropriate decision at the right time.
Earlier, the State Government has reduced the syllabus by 30 per cent for Class I to XII for academic year 2020-21 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted normal educational activities.
