Bhubaneswar: BJD Vice-President and former MP Prasanna Acharya, who sustained injuries in an accident in Sambalpur district, was airlifted to Bhubaneswar on Friday and admitted to a private hospital here.
The senior BJD leader was injured after his vehicle collided with a truck on National Highway 55 in Sambalpur district.
The accident happened late Thursday night and Acharya’s Personal security Officer also suffered fractures while the driver escaped with minor injuries. Acharya was admitted at a hospital in Sambalpur.
The senior BJD leader was airlifted to Bhubaneswar for further treatment, as per reports.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished speedy recovery to Acharya.
