Setback to BJP in Jajpur as 12 Leaders Including 2019 MLA Candidate Quit Party, Join BJD

Bhubaneswar: In a major setback to BJP in Odisha’s Jajpur district, 12 key leaders have left the saffron party and joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal on Friday.

2019 BJP MLA candidate from Dharmasala assembly seat Ramesh Chandra Praida and 11 other leaders have quit the party.

The leaders have resigned from the BJP and joined the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led BJD on Friday.

At an induction programme held at the Biju Yuva Janata Dal office here, Ramesh Chandra Praida and other BJP leaders took primary membership of the BJD.

Jajpur MLA and BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das, Korei MLA Ashok Kumar Bal and BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb welcomed the new members to the party fold.
