Bhubaneswar: The first AC bus service to Jagannath Dham Puri from Sheragada in Ganjam district has been launched on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off the ‘Jagannath Express’ between Sheragada and Puri through video conferencing.
The bus service has been started by the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the people of Sheragada can travel to Puri comfortably for darshan of Lord Jagannath with this new bus service.
The bus service will be especially helpful for many people of Ganjam who go to Puri for Habisa in the month of Kartika, the CM expressed.
He said whether it is 5T school transformation or temple transformation, Ganjam is always ahead. The transformation work of Maa Taratarini Temple has brought joy to the people of the district. Similarly, the 5T school transformation has created enthusiasm among students and parents.
The Chief Minister congratulated all as Ganjam district won the best Zilla Parishad award at the national level in the field of Panchayatiraj. The Chief Minister said that the district will achieve many more successes in the coming days if the blessings and cooperation of the people continue.
Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, OSRTC officials and Panchayat representatives of Sheragada were present on the occasion.
