Berhampur: Six new urban health and wellness centres will be opened in Berhampur to provide best health services to the people of silk city in walking distance.
This has been informed by Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Commissioner Dr. Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar.
The health and wellness centres will be opened at the key locations in the city, such as Corporation Building Meenakhi Nagar, Ankuli Dispensary, Tulsi Nagar Rented Builidng, Matiagaon Community Hall, Bijipur Gosaninuagaon Kalyan Mandap and Ambapua Community Hall.
The centres will have MBBS doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists, yoga teachers and other supporting staffs.
Talking about the initiative, the BeMC Commissioner said, “We are committed to give best health care services to our citizens in their locality”.
He also urged the citizens of Berhampur to utilize these services and give their feedback to improve the centres.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has approved the locations and fund for the health and wellness centres.
He said that these new centres will play a major role in further strengthening the healthcare system in Berhampur.
Recently, all eight urban primary health centres (UPHCs) in BeMC have won the prestigious ‘Kayakalp Award’ for the year 2021-22 for achieving high level of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control measures linked to positive health outcomes.
