Berhampur: Water of the holy river Rushikulya and soil from Odisha’s famous Maa Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha on Purnagiri hills in Ganjam district have been sent to Ayodhya for ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of Lord Rama Temple on August 5.
As per the popular beliefs and folklore, Lord Rama has a connect with this holly place during His Vanvash at Dandakaranya. This place was the beginning point of this Dandakaranya forest.
Prabhu Shri Rama, Mata Janaki and Bhrata Laxman spent around 18 days in this area on the holy River banks of Rushikulya and established 18 Shiva Lingas before entering the dense forest at Ramanaguda at Rushimala Parvata, the end point of Brahmavarta & the beginning of Dakshinatya.
Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha is also associated with Bhagawan Parasuram, Shrikrishna and Pandavas during their Vanavas.
The members of Maa Tara Tarini Temple Trust sent holy water and soil from this famous Shakti Peetha for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodha.
