Sonepur Admin To Organise Orientation Programme For Sarpanches, PRIs and Community Leaders

Sonepur: With the fight against Covid-19 pandemic requiring involvement of all especially at the grassroots levels, Sonepur district administration has taken an innovative step to sensitize the Sarpanches, PRIs and Community Leaders on Covid care and management efforts.

The district administration has scheduled an orientation program through virtual mode today in which Dr. Narayan Prasad Modi, former associate professon of SCB Medical College will guide the participants on the various aspects of Covid care and management. Initially, today’s orientation program will involve participants from Dunguripali Block. Subsecuently, all the 109 Gram Panchayats will be included in the orientation program.

The orientation program holds much importance as Odisha has been very successful in fighting the pandemic with the help of grassroots people such as the Sarapanches, PRI Members and community leaders. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has called for and also instructed the administrations for giving a greater role to the community level people in the fight against pandemic.
