New Delhi: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to become the new president of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), while Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is set to become the secretary of the BCCI.
Ganguly, one of the most successful skippers in Indian cricket history, pipped Brijesh Patel in a see-saw battle and is expected to be the only presidential nominee.
Ganguly, who is currently the president of Cricket Association of Bengal, said his election will be a great opportunity for him to do something good.
Talking to the media, the cricket legend admitted that being selected unopposed is a big responsibility and that the image of the BCCI had been hampered in the recent past.
Ganguly is one of the four members of the Indian Premier League’s Governing Council, responsible for all the functions of the tournament.
