Southwest Monsoon Reaches Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon has arrived in Odisha on Thursday with several parts of the State receiving the rainfall.

The monsoon has advanced to most areas of Malkangiri, Koraput and some areas of Gajapati district.

The weather conditions are favorable for further advancement of monsoon over Odisha during the next two days, the IMD stated.

Meanwhile, pre-monsoon downpour inundated parts of Bhubaneswar this morning. The capital city recorded 59.8mm rainfall by 11.30 am and 90.4 mm rainfall by 2.30 pm.

The districts such as Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam and Khordha are likely to witness very heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occure one or two places of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal and Jajpur, the IMD stated.
