Special Vaccination Drive In Berhampur Witnesses Huge Response

Berhampur: The three day special drive by Berhampur Municipal Corporation for vaccination of the 18-plus age group has received huge accolades from the citizens of Berhampur. The drive which began yesterday morning in twelve schools and one Urban Primary Health Center is seeing growing footfalls and the beneficiaries have responded positively to the arrangements made by the civic authority.

The BeMC has received about 19 thousand doses of vaccines which will be given to the people belonging to the 18 plus category during these four days.

The Municipal Corporation authorities have made all possible facilities for the beneficiaries coming to the centers. While each vaccination center has four vaccinators, arrangements have been made for support staff and volunteers. A nodal officer is also engaged in each center who is supervising the vaccination drive.

Facilities such as seating arrangements, drinking water etc have also been made for the beneficiaries in the vaccination centers. The Drive in vaccination center Set Up at the Khallikote College stadium has been witnessing huge response from the people of Berhampur. Special arrangements for the handicapped persons have been made at the spot.

Speaking to NewsroomOdisha, Commissioner Dr. Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar has said that, “Our aim is to provide hassle free vaccines to all eligible people. We are giving importance to amenities such as seating arrangements and drinking water. Maintaining social distance at the vaccination center is also of utmost importance for us. We are thankful to the people for cooperating us. The response we are getting in the special drive will definitely help us to serve them better.”

Speaking on the vaccination drive, Siba Prasad Patra, a resident of Luchapada said, “we are happy with the arrangements made by BeMC. People are getting vaccine within minutes and they don’t have to wait for hours. Request all people to take the advantage and vaccinate themselves.”

For Aparajita Panigrahi, a graduate student who came to the vaccination center, “There is total maintenance of social distancing in the vaccination center. People are also wearing masks. The facilities made here are good.”
