SRC Asks Collectors, Health Dept to Take Precautionary Measures to Deal with Hot & Humid Weather Conditions
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Satyabrata Sahu has asked the Collectors of all districts and State Health Department to take all precautionary measures to deal with the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions in the State.
Due to prevailing dry conditions across the State and strengthening of north-westerly dry winds in middle and upper level of atmosphere, maximum temperature (Day Temperature) likely to be 40° Celsius or more at many places in the districts of interior Odisha and maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 2° Celsius to 3° Celsius at few districts of coastal Odisha. There shall be hot and high humid conditions over coastal Odisha during this week, the SRC said.
The SRC has directed the Collectors to take all precautionary measures by creating adequate awareness among the public.
He has urged Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department to take stock of the health facilities available at CHC/PHC/Sub-divisional and district Headquarters hospitals to tackle heat related problems.
The doctors and health workers working at the grassroots level may be sensitized properly, the SRC stressed.
