State of The Art Silk Workshop And Showroom To Showcase Authentic Creativity At Mission Shakti Urban Mall

Berhampur: Adding another feather to the cap of successes and resolving the commitment of Women Empowerment through Mission Shakti, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation has developed a Silk Weaver’s Workshop and Showroom at the first ever Mission Shakti Urban Mall in Berhampur. The showroom, which will display the rich and authentic silk products of the city is being managed by the Mission Shakti group members. The administration has provided silk weaving machines to ten skilled MSG members who will display their weaving creativity and sell the output.

The modern Showroom has been designed keeping in mind the authentic silk products made by MSGs. While the initiative has created employment opportunities for the MSGs, visitors will get authentic silk products of their own Silk City.

The Mission Shakti Urban Mall will provide the Women SHGs a new and vibrant platform to exhibit their collective entrepreneurship and capability propelling Odisha’s progress towards women empowerment, a vision that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has always emphasized for the development of the State. The mall will accommodate more than 15 SHGs who will display and sale a range of Berhampur-made products like badi, rashi papad, pickles, silk products and handicraft items.
