Bhubaneswar: The Met Department has predicted heavy rains in the state in the next two days due to the formation of the low press over north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal on Monday. The Low Pressure is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours and move northwestwards towards Odisha coast bringing heavy rains in many parts of the state.
The Met Department has issued Orange Warning for Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur and Koraput districts where one or more places will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm). Orange warning has also been issued for the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Angul, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda till 8.3 am on 21st September which are expected to receive heavy rains (7 to 11cm) at one or two places.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the deep sea areas of Northwest adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal on 19th and along off the Odisha Coast and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal on 20th September 2022.
