Bhubaneswar: The new stricter guidelines announced by the Government of Odisha will come into effect from today. The government intends to strictly implement the guidelines to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections in the state. From today, the night curfew in all urban areas of the state will be enforced from 9 pm to 5 am in the morning. The new guidelines will be in force till the end of the month.
The guidelines call for restrictions on the movement of people and vehicles during the Curfew period and exempts some important and emergency movements such as Police, Ambulance, Administration etc.
The restrictions will not apply to healthcare professionals such as Doctors and paramedical staff, Telecom, Water, Fire Services, Electricity, Railways, Airport etc. Electronic and Print media identified by the administration are also allowed to move during the curfew period.
The movements of public transport both government and private including cabs by aggregators to and from bus stands, railway stations and Airports are also allowed to operate. People working with IT & ITeS companies on production of their ID cards can also venture out.
Among other restrictions, the government has restricted physical classes in the state schools upto 12th Standard. But the ongoing examinations for the matriculation will continue. Attendance in official meetings and training programs has been capped at 100. Cinema halls in the state will open with fifty percent capacity. Likewise, Jatras and open air theatres are allowed to open with only 1000 spectators.
Eateries in the state are allowed to open for public with 50 percent of the seating capacity.
While the number of guests in marriage functions has been capped at 100, marriage processions are allowed with just 30 members.
