Subarnapur: With land revenue payment system going digital mode in Odisha, the Subarnapur district administration today organised workshops to train the farmers and others about the online payment system.
Workshops have been conducted at RI level in all tehsils of the district for demonstration of online payment of land revenue to the villagers, informed Subarnapur Collector Monisha Banerjee.
For the farmers in the district, online payment is a completely new thing. Hence, the district admin has decided to conduct workshops to provide them hands-on experience about the digital technologies, she said.
The experts will demonstrate and guide the villagers how to make payments online using internet and mobile phones.
The workshops will be held regularly at the RI level depending upon the availability of the farmers and others, sources said.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the online land revenue payment system, first of its kind initiative under the “5-T mantra” to provide relief to the farmers and other facing difficulties in making payments for land rent.
With this system, the people need not to run to various government offices to pay land rent.
Developed by NIC Bhubaneswar, the system will enable farmers to make payments within minutes and get rent receipts.
