Subarnapur: In a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus, Odisha’s Subarnapur district has decided to impose weekend shutdown till July 31.
“Two days weekend shutdown will be implemented on Saturday and Sunday during the month of July with restrictions on intra-district public and private transport and closure of shops and establishments, govt. and private institutions and movement/assembly of people”, Subarnapur Collector Monisha Banerjee said in an order.
During the shutdown period, all medical establishments including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes including medicine stores and movement of ambulance and all medical personnel will be allowed, the order stated.
The district administration has also made 14-day institutional/home quarantine mandatory for the returnees from 13 hotspots districts of Odisha, such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balangir.
The imposition of curfew shall remain in force from 7 PM to 7 AM every day, it added.
