Subarnapur: Temporary Medical Camps Set up in GPs to Provide Quarantine Facilities
Subarnapur: The Subarnapur district administration has set up temporary medical camps in gram panchayats (GPs) to provide quarantine facilities to the people in view of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the State.
Although no positive case has been reported in the district, the administration is closely monitoring the situation and is taking all necessary measures as per the guidelines of the government on COVID-19, said district Collector Monisha Banerjee.
The medical camps will be used to provide quarantine facilities to the people if the situation demands.
Each camp has basic facilities like beds, drinking water, toilet, electricity along with some accessories such as racks, dustbins, misquito mats, buckets and mugs. The district admin is trying to make these centres as comfortable as possible.
Meanwhile, the district admin has taken a number of steps to strictly enforce the lockdown imposed by the government to ensure social distancing of people to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
The admin is closely watching the migrant workers returned to the district from different parts of the country. They have been strictly instructed to go for self-isolation in their houses, said an official.
A massive awareness drive is being carried out by the administration to sensitize the people about the importance of social distancing to beat the COVID-19.
At the markets, vendors selling essential items have been directed to maintain a distance while selling commodities to people and maintain hygiene.
