Subarnapur Vet Department Junior Asst Caught by Vigilance While Accepting Bribe of Rs 15000

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Department has apprehended Golaka Bihari Podha, Junior Assistant, Sub- Divisional Veterinary Office, B.M.Pur Campus, Subarnpur, while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.15,000 from a Complainant(Live Stock Inspector). He was demanding the bribe for processing and drawl of pending salary of the complainant. Initially, Podha took Rs 20,000 bribe but did not release the salary and demanded Rs 15,000 more to do the same. Following this, the complainant approached the Vigilance authorities and an FIR was registered in this matter.

Today, Podha was nabbed by the Vigilance team while accepting the demanded bribe Rs 15,000 from the complainant. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Golaka Bihari Podha and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of from DA angle. In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S.Case No.12 dt.20.05.2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Golaka Podha.
