Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has nabbed a Tahasildar and private person for taking bribe in Nayagarh district.
Dhobei Nayak, Tahasildar, Khandapara in Nayagarh district and Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, the private person, have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant to release his seized sand laden Hyva.
Sahoo while accepting demanded bribe Rs.20,000 as per direction of the Tahasildar was nabbed by the Vigilance team and the entire bribe money was recovered from Sahoo and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the Tahasildar from DA angle, the Vigilance informed.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.11/2024 U/s-7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered.
Investigation is in progress against both the accused persons, it added.
