Sambalpur: The Hirakud dam authorities today opened three sluice gates to release excess floodwater from the reservoir.
The water-level of the reservoir is recorded at 622.8 ft against the storage capacity of 630 ft. The average inflow of water at the reservoir was recorded at 1.60 lakh cusec, sources said.
The authorities have opened the three gates to maintain the water level in the reservoir.
Earlier on August 23, All gates of the reservoir were closed.
