Training for MLAs Begins In OLA Premises today

Bhubaneswar: A two-day Orientation program for the members of the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly is being organized in the assembly. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the training programme at the new conference hall of the State Assembly. Speaker Surya Narayana Patro, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Nayak and other MLAs are present in the program. All the MLAs have been asked to attend the training programme, being organized jointly organized by the Lok Sabha Secretariat and OLA Secretariat.

The orientation program intends to train the members on the functioning of the legislature and the different guidelines and procedures of the assembly. The training programme to be held for the second time, assumes significance as there are about 59 first-time elected MLAs in the 16th State Assembly. Senior members of the house and ministers would also give tips to the fresher members during the training session to be held under the direct guidance of Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro.
