Berhampur: In an effort to provide state of the art modern amenities to rural public that are hitherto available to the urban areas, the Ganjam district administration has taken up an innovative step in the form of modern parks.
A park in Kainchapur Panchayat of Ganjam District has been developed into a modern amenity for the people having all the facilities that are available anywhere in an urban park. This transformation of the village landscape has been possible due to the active involvement of the administration. Following Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s principles of providing equitable development to all, the village park has been developed into a wonderful place of recreation.
Using funds from the 14th SFCs grant and performance grants, the unique concept also utilized MNREGS as a successful tool for developing the park.
Appreciating the effort, Chief Minister tweeted “First rural park in Kainchapur GP of Ganjam district is a step towards ushering in transformation in Odisha’s villages through urban amenities.”
