Transforming School Education: Naveen To Issue Appointment Letters To 6131 Teachers Today

Bhubaneswar: With the successful completion of the first phase of the 5T High Schools Transformation program with the inauguration of more than 1070 High Schools in the state, the Government of Odisha has taken an important step to appoint 6131 teachers in a single day today. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today handover the Appointment letters to the newly recruited teachers at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

This comes in the backdrop of the transformation of the High Schools with state of the art infrastructure including new buildings, digital classrooms, computer labs, science laboratories, and all other amenities for the students. To supplement these transformation, the state government has undertaken an ambitious initiative to appoint more than 6131 teachers in the state. The School And Mass Education Department has completed the selection process of the new teachers in a war footing and in just three months, all modalities have been completed. This is for the first time in the history of Odisha that more than 6000 teachers are being appointed in a single go.

After development of the infrastructure, the focus of the state government is now on the qualitative development of the educational environment in the state. As a part of this, the appointment of teachers has been prioritized. The government has also adopted a transparent and stringent selection process for the appointments. The new teachers will primarily be appointed in the 1070 transformed high schools of the state.

The special State Level Orientation for the new secondary teachers is being held at the Kalinga Stadium which will be attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The SME Department has made arrangements for the grand orientation program and all teachers have been issued temporary identity cards for entry into the stadium.

Of the total 6131 teachers appointed, the maximum number of 438 teachers are for Cuttack District. Likewise, Sundargarh and Ganjam will get 391 teachers each. While Mayurbhanj has 383 teachers, Keonjhar has 356 new teachers. Keeping in mind the security concerns and the Covid situation in mind, the teachers are allowed entry only with their identity proof, identity cards, Mobiles and purse. Three designated galleries in the stadium have been marked for the teachers to sit.
