Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Motor Transport Workers Federation has called off its strike with immediate effect after discussions with senior Odisha Government officials today. According to a release from the Government of Odisha, “a cordial discussion was held with the Representatives of Odisha Motor Transport Workers Federation who have called for strike on behalf of Transport Workers against the new provision made in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.”
Chief Secretary and Senior Officers were present during the discussions and appealed to the Federation members based on the statement made by the Union Home Secretary. They were requested to withdraw their strike to avoid any inconvenience to public. The Federation was represented by Janardan Pati, Ullash Swain and Others. The Federation agreed and has given the statement that the Strike has been called off with immediate effect.
