Two JN.1 Covid Variant Cases Reported In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported two cases of JN.1 variant of Covid. According to Director of Health Services, Odisha, Bijay Mohapatra, the two infections were identified after genome sequencing of the samples. While one of the infected person is a Kerala returness and hails from Sundargarh, his condition is normal with no symptoms. The other person is an 83 year old man and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. His condition is also normal. He has also said that there have been no Covid related deaths in the state this year. The number of active cases in Odisha stands at 25 with one new case identified in the last 24 hours.
