Bhubaneswar: A FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) delegation visited the Odisha’s iconic Kalinga Stadium here on Friday to review preparations for the upcoming U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The eight member delegation, led by project head Oliver Vogt, inspected infrastructure and other facilities at the stadium for the tournament.
The FIFA delegation expressed satisfaction over the preparation for the tournament so far, told Odisha Sports Secretary Vishal Dev to the media.
He further said that three more new practicing grounds (two in the police battalion and one in the capital high school) will be set up.
However, the sitting capacity in Kalinga Stadium will not be increased, he added.
The U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to be held from November 2 to 21 next year.
