UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp Meets Naveen, Appreciates Odisha’s Progress on Human Development Indicators

Bhubaneswar: United Nations Resident Coordinator in India Shombi Sharp, who is on a visit to Bhubaneswar, has paid a curtsey call to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Shombi Sharp highlighted Odisha’s accomplishments on food security that has been recognised nationally and globally.

He also said that UNWFP India is privileged to be a longstanding partner in Odisha’s transformational journey. He said “We in the UN are privileged to be working with you. We have had a long history of fantastic work on disaster reduction. You are making incredible progress on Human Development Indicators. We saw the 5Ts, and you have been recognized obviously internationally for the work on food security. Also, the Millet Mission, Odisha Millet Mission is something. Of course, India brought that to the world in the year of the millets last year. I think yours was one of the flagship initiatives.”
