Unlock Guidelines: Border Check Posts Along Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand to be Removed

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has decided to do away with the border check points along the Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh borders set up to prevent movement of people due to Covid. But the same with Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal borders will continue as both the states continue to report high Covid cases.

The government has also decided to continue the prevailing guidelines with regard to marriage functions, cremation, meetings, social gatherings and opening of temples in the state. All essential services, transport of goods, industrial activities, construction activities are be allowed as before. Public transport including buses and trains will remain suspended during the this period.

Taking into account the severity of the infections, the state government has divided the districts into Category A and Category B. Category A districts include Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada. Category B districts include Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
