Urban Polls: Odisha Govt Employees to Get Paid Holiday to Exercise Franchise

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has granted paid holiday to its employees to exercise their franchise in the urban local body (ULB) elections scheduled on March 24.

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department wrote a letter to heads of all departments and RDCs in this regard on Thursday.

“The Government Employees who desire to exercise their franchise at place away from their headquarters on the date of poll may be allowed Special Casual Leave for maximum three days i.e. on the day preceding poll, one day after poll and on the date of poll. The leave to be granted may be treated as Special Casual Leave in addition to normal Cause Leave admissible to them during the Calendar Year 2022”, the letter reads.

The general elections to the 3 Municipal Corporations (Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur) and 106 Municipalities and NACs will be held on March 24 in Odisha.
