New Delhi: The United States said that it is closely monitoring the situation following a fierce clash between Indian and Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh.
Issuing a statement on the standoff between the two Asian countries, the US said it hopes that the differences will be resolved peacefully.
“We are closely monitoring the situation between Indian and Chinese forces along the Line of Actual Control,” a spokesperson of the State Department said.
The United Nations had also asked the two nations to maintain maximum restraint.
At least 20 Indian Army personnel were killed in violent face-off in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on Monday night, according to reports.
