Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia Actress Jharana Das has passed away today morning at her Cuttack residence. She was 82 years old. Jharana is well known for her outstanding acting. She started her career in the Odia film industry in 1964 and her first film was Amada Bata.
She was also famous for her shows in All India Radio and Doordarshan. She was one of the leading actresses of the Odia film industry in the 60s, and has acted in various films such as Malla Janha and Adina Megha, Nari, Sri Jagannath, Abhinetri and many more. A pall of gloom has descended in Odia film fraternity with her demise.
