Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Department carried out marathon searched at various places related to Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi and seized a large number of incriminating documents, cash and jewelry. The raids which started yesterday morning, continued for nearly 23 hours at Pradeep’ house in Bhubaneswar. The vigilance officials left Pradeep’s house today morning at about 6 am. The raids were carried out on the basis of the Disproportionate Assets Case registered by the Vigilance Department in October this year. Simultaneous raids are underway by the Vigilance Department at 15 locations.
Sources have told that the Vigilance team has seized documents related to land deals, bank passbooks,, laptop, atm cards, credit cards, mobile phones etc. They have also recovered Rs 20 lakhs cash from one of the associates of Pradeep Panigrahy.
Pradeep Panigrahi is the sitting MLA from Gopalpur. He was earlier expelled from the Biju Janata Dal for anti people activities. He was also arrested by the Crime Branch in connection with a case related to cheating in the name of giving jobs in Tata Company.
