Vigilance Sleuths Seize 1440gm Gold, Necklace worth Rs.24.25 Lakh from House of Pradeep Panigrahy So Far; MLA’s Bank Accounts to Be Freezed

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has seized 1440gm gold and a Sabyasachi brand designer necklace worth Rs.24.25 lakh from the house of tainted MLA Pradeep Panigrahy during raids.

Steps are also being taken for freezing of the bank accounts of Panigrahy and his family members, a statement issued by the Vigilance said.

The documents found during the searches will be examined by the officers of Financial Wing of Vigilance and Professional CA and Banking Consultants. Cyber Cell of Vigilance will examine all electronic evidences/documents found during the searches, it added.

Examination of witnesses, suspects, and accused will be carried out in due course of time, the Vigilance Department said while adding that the investigation is underway against the MLA.

Notably, Pradeep Panigrahy was earlier expelled from the Biju Janata Dal for anti-people activities. He was also arrested by the Crime Branch in connection with a case related to cheating in the name of giving jobs in Tata Company.
