Mumbai: Actor Vijay Varma, who is all geared up for the release of the limited series ‘IC814: The Kandahar Hijack’ has penned a gratitude note for working with the ‘cinema Gods’–Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur in the show, calling it a ‘big dream’.
Taking to Instagram, Vijay, who has 1.3 million followers on the photo sharing application, dropped a poster which shows him in the centre, and Naseeruddin and Pankaj behind him.
Vijay, who plays the lead role of a pilot in the show which is based on a true story, wrote in the caption, “A boy from Hyderabad had a dream.. a big dream.. and it looked so distant that he wouldn’t even dare imagine it to be reality one day. The boy is me.. now a full grown man.. and the dream was to work with cinema gods Mr. Naseeruddin Shah and Mr. Pankaj Kapur. Now I have a freakin poster with these legends! Thank you @anubhavsinhaa sir for making this happen..”

The show follows the story of the hijack of the Indian Airlines Flight 814 by the Pakistani militants of the terrorist outfit Harkat-ul-Mujahideen.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘IC814’ brings together industry stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, along with an ensemble cast–Patralekha, Dia Mirza, Pooja A Gor, Anupam Tripathi, Yashpal Sharma, Arvind Swami, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa.
The six-episode series thrusts the audiences into the nerve-wracking reality faced by passengers and crew trapped at 30,000 feet. With every moment steeped in tension, the series follows a relentless team in India racing against time, deciphering the hijackers’ ominous demands, and fighting against the odds to ensure the safe return of everyone on board.
Produced by Matchbox Shots, and Benaras Mediaworks, ‘IC814’ will be streaming on August 29 on Netflix.
