Virat Kohli Becomes Fastest Batsman to Score 20,000 International Runs, Breaks Sachin, Lara’s Record

Manchester: Indian captain Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 20,000 international runs breaking the record set by legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies great Brian Lara.

Kohli achieved the feat when he scored 37 runs during the 25th over of Team India’s innings against West Indies at the ICC World Cup match at the Old Trafford, Manchester, on Thursday.

Both Tendulkar and Lara had achieved this feat in 453 innings, while former Australian captain Ricky Ponting had scored 20,000 runs in 468 innings.

Kohli scored 20,000 runs in just 417 innings (131 in Tests, 224 in ODIs and 62 in T20Is).
