Voters Awareness Programme Launched on EVM and VVPAT in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With an eye on the deepening of electoral democracy and maximum possible voter turnout dedicated voter-awareness programmes are being launched around the state by the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha.

In every District Headquarters and Sub Divisional levels awareness centres are being opened for the voters where EVM and VVPAT demonstrations are underway. A very large number of voters are coming to the centres and participating in the mock polls.

Voters from all strata and regions are showing keen interest in participating in this awareness drive. Particularly, the young voters are showing more interest and enthusiasm to come to the voter-awareness centres to know the details of the EVM and VVPAT machines.

According to the recorded data a total of 125990 voters have visited the awareness centres in different districts and a total of 118247 voters have participated in the mock poll.

Aiming to cover every constituency of the state mobile vans carrying EVM/VVPATs are being deployed to deepen electoral democracy to the root level.
