Sambalpur: The water level of Hirakud dam here reached 626.19 feet against the optimal storage capacity of 630 feet by 6 am today. As per sources, the water inflow into the reservoir is 2,53,570 cusecs while water outflow from the reservoir is 1,01,098 cusec.
The dam authorities have reported opened five gates today in order release the excess water from the reservoir. According to reports, 2,86,500 cusecs of water are being released at Khairmal and 4,54,000 cusecs of water at Barmul. Besides, 6,08560 cusecs are being discharged at Munduli.
