Bhubaneswar: Odisha is fully prepared to face the cyclone Yaas, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding preparedness for cyclone on Monday.
“We are fully prepared and our officers are in touch with officers of the Central Government. We will get back on requirements”, Naveen told the Union Home Minister.
Amit Shah has reviewed the preparations for Cyclone Yaas including the evacuation of people on the high seas as well as in vulnerable coastal areas and the safety of COVID-19 facilities.
The Union Minister held with the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal and the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands through video conferencing.
He discussed the possible impact of the cyclone on oxygen generation plants located in West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and asked the state governments to ensure their safety.
Earlier today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed the people of the State through a video message and urged people living in vulnerable places to shift to cyclone shelters and safer places.
He also appealed people to use two masks during the severe super cyclonic storm.
The Chief Minister also said that the Odisha government is fully prepared to tackle the double challenges of Covid-19 crisis and ‘Yaas’.
