We Will Never Allow Democracy to Be Killed in Assembly: BJD

Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader and Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain on Wednesday strongly condemned the Speaker’s action towards the opposition MLAs in the Assembly.

The BJD will never allow the democracy to be killed in the House, Swain said while questioning the Speaker’s impartiality in the Assembly.

He said that the BJD has given notice four times in the past three days for discussion regarding reservation for SC, ST and OBC students in the fields of technical, engineering and medical education and employment. However, the Speaker is not giving a statement on it, he said.

“What is your agenda? When the scuffle took place in the House, you have given one-sided direction. We heard that someone has snatched the chain of Bahinipati. Who will give clarification on this matter,” Swain asked.

The BJD also demanded a statement from the Speaker on the suspension of Congress MLAs from the House.
