Bhubaneswar: The third weekend shutdown in eleven of the thirty district of Odisha has commenced and most the places look deserted with people remaining indoors.
The 48-hour shutdown has been imposed by the State Government as part of the measures to flatten the rising corona infection curve.
Security has been beefed up to enforce the complete shutdown of non-essential services and restrict movement of people in the eleven districts – Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Bolangir.
The two-day weekend shutdown will continue in the districts till the end of June.
While all offices, groceries and vegetable shops remain closed in these districts, airports, railway stations, bus terminals and movement of associated personnel and activities are being allowed during the shutdown period.
